Hi, I’m Christine Yasgar … an on-location, natural light photographer, specializing in children and family portraits. I picked up my first camera around the age of 15, the first time I became an aunt. I have been taking pictures of my own family for more than 20 years now. I am also a member of the New Haven Camera Club.
My style lends itself to taking "informal portraits", as I tend to capture the energy and spirit of the children while they are having fun and being themselves. I am not a big fan of trying to get kids to “sit and smile”and I don't usually ask them to "say cheese”. Each child is very unique, so I tend not to capture the same "pose" twice. I prefer spending time with children in their own environment. When they are in a familiar setting they are relaxed and as a result, their smiles are natural and real…not forced. I like to let things happen naturally and the results are amazing!
Don’t be surprised when I show up to a session with just me and my camera. Although, I am also equipped with backdrops to do more formal portraits, if that is what you’re looking for.
If you are not sure how to dress your child(ren) for the session, please don’t hesitate to ask. I would be more than happy to help.
